To be honest: Without comparison videos, we would not have noticed a really significant difference. In order to get your Mass Effect 2 DLC onto Steam, first you must actually own and install the games content via the Steam store. In the successors, the changes are much more subtle. The terrible German voice output of the first part, for example, has remained unchanged and even with the “new” controls, the Mako has not become a Need for Speed bolide. So under all the new paint there is still the same old game. The environments have been expanded with many small details, the character models have been worked out in more detail, many bugs have been fixed and the fights are now much more powerful thanks to improved hit feedback.īut Mass Effect 1 still doesn’t feel really “modern”, because the Legendary Edition isn’t a remake either.
Especially the not really aged first part has been heavily modernized.
BioWare has done a lot more than just lazily upscaling the resolution (and apart from ME3 multiplayer, no features have been deleted). A little all-clear right in advance: This is not a Mass Effect: Reforged.
